INDESEC Expo 2009 officially supported by Indian Home Ministry proves a phenomenal success

INDESEC Expo 2009 - India’s only exhibition and conference dedicated to homeland security – was a huge success. Inaugurated by the Union Home Secretary, Mr G K Pillai, INDESEC Expo 2009 was held between 11th – 13th October 2009 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. For the first time ever in India the decision makers and influencers responsible for India’s national security were provided a platform dedicated to meeting their requirements.

The response, attendance and reaction of the Government’s senior officials was unprecedented:

“INDESEC Expo 2009 organised by Informa India was very well organised. It was innovative, knowledgeable with the kind of technology that is not available in the local markets. The participants from abroad particularly Israel and US were of particular interest to us and the equipment we found there should help us in the Rapid Action Force. We were looking for anti-riot equipment and found it and we are considering acquiring them. The best thing was all the technologies were available in one place and that saved us the time and helped compare with other available technology all at one time”

Other senior officials included representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Police and Paramilitary Forces, Intelligence Bureau, Bureau of Police Research and Development, state police forces from 23 states and 14 key cities, the Armed Forces, DRDO, Forensic Laboratories and training institutes.

The event attracted 129 companies including the key sponsors Microsoft, Cisco, Raytheon, Axsys Technologies – General Dynamics, MDI Inc, EADS, Ericsson, Gordon Consulting Engineers and CNN. 92% of exhibitors stated that visitor quality met or exceeded their expectations.
